4 mosche di velluto grigio (1971, dir. Dario Argento)

One of the animal trilogy in his early 70's works, 'Four Flies on Gray Velvet' is very rarely available (not available on DVD nor on VHS and will never be!) film and I barely made it to see a one night only late show.
A rock star Roberto accidentally kills his stalker and then starts to get stalked by a stalker of the guy he killed. And then annoying letters and phone calls starts to bug him as the flies buzzing over his head when he plays the drum in the studio, until he finds out the truth behind it...
I was a a little disappointed that there was no weird (but very creative), meaningless gores as we see in his later works, yet this film offers a lot of other fun stuff such as quirky side characters, the psudo scientific tool (which works as an effective plot device), gender-bending, Freudien subtext, and lots of humour throughout..

Diesskay a dit…

Les films de jeunesse de Argento ont toujours été plutôt bons. Ca donne envie de le voir et de revoir Suspiria!
